Working with progressive developer HUB, this was a photography assignment in support of a proposed ‘Build to Rent’ (BTR) development in vibrant Canonmills in the heart of Edinburgh, a short walk from Stockbridge and the city centre. With secure rental leases much sought after in Edinburgh the development offers apartments with creative studios, communal space, and landscaped areas. These images were made as part of a wider set capturing the character of the local area and nearby landmarks.
The brief here was to showcase the location and to create a package of imagery from a well established and vibrant Edinburgh area, highlighting local facilities and attractions in Canonmills and nearby Stockbridge; shops, streets, parks and restaurants. Working mainly on foot exploring the area whilst shooting handheld, the series profiled the development’s local context and the desirable lifestyle benefits nearby.
