A lovely project to start 2025 – working with Fife Historic Buildings Trust in the wonderful location of St Monans, as they support the local community in securing funding for community ownership of this beautiful 14th Century Church. St Monans Auld Kirk Enterprise have been exploring securing a new future for the building, for the benefit of the local area. Potential uses include performance and venue space for community events and to provide cafe and improved visitor facilities. We developed a photo brief together to support the group’s bids for funding and simply to show its attributes and how unique the building is.
The church sits on the Fife Coastal Path perched dramatically above the sea. Using aerial photography the specatcular coast line was able to feature in the images, and was used internally to document the interior space prior to its transformation. A short film sequence shot with the drone further to the set of images, highlighted the location and character of this stunning building and was enhanced by the music of James Lascelles. It was a pleasure to photograph this building and contribute in a small way to its new adventure.
